Have you been dying to try your hand at Fair Isle knitting?  This is a great class to get you started!  Students will learn how to read a colorwork chart while managing multiple strands of yarn at one time.  We will be discussing color dominance and solutions to common tension issues.  Choose to knit your hat with one of our custom kits or select your own color combination.  You'll definitely be a fair

Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills, including some experience with double-point needles OR Beginning Hat class

Homework:

  • Students should knit to the point of starting the charted rows before class

Supplies:

  • "Phoebe" pattern (available for purchase in-store or online)
  • US #3 16" circular needles
  • US #4 16" circular needles
  • US #4 double-pointed needles
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn needle (Chibi)
  • Highlighter tape (recommended) or another way to track your chart rows

  • Basics of stranded (Fair Isle) knitting, including how to maintain proper tension and different methods for managing yarns
