Top Right: "Hitchhiker Beyond" by Martina Behm (@Martina Behm on Ravelry, @strickmich on Instagram); photo by Martina Behm - One of the most popular knitting patterns on Ravelry has gotten a makeover! "Hitchhiker Beyond" rearranges the previous version into a symmetrical triangular shawl with the teeth all along one edge. The new pattern still works perfectly with that special skein of fingering-weight yarn and has the squish of garter that we love!
Bottom: Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka from "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" - There are some pictures - some scenes, some faces - that instantly evoke memories and feelings. Gene Wilder's face, in any of his famous roles, is one that makes me instantly remember family movie nights, whether I was wanting to escape to the Chocolate Room or cracking up at Young Frankenstein. His wild hair and frantic expressions bring back scenes of humor and drama. The twinkle in his eye speaks to my childish sense of wonder. If you are unaware of the reason why Wilder chose to keep his diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease a secret, you should read his family's statement.
I'm off to watch Blazing Saddles now.
